Santa Claus!

We kept telling Maddie how we were going to see Santa, and if she was a good girl, he would probably give her a candy cane. She was so excited and kept saying she was going to give him a big hug! Well there were about 15 kids in front of her and we had her watch the "brave" ones so she hopefully wouldn't be as scared. As soon as she was up, she said, "it's my turn!" and started to march on up! She got about 10 ft from the big guy and she planted her feet. I told her I would go with her and "pulled" her along. She couldn't take her eyes off the jolly ol' (all though I must say he looked very youthful) man, but I could tell she was scared to death. He asked if she was a good girl and helped her mommy. She said "Yes!" Then he asked what she wanted for Christmas and she said a candy cane! When it came time to sit on his lap she very politely said, "I don't want to." I told her she could sit next to him and take a quick picture while I stood just off to the side. All though a bit apprehensive she agreed and gave a quick smile and got that picture over and done with! She ran off before she had a chance to give him a hug! Now that Santa is nowhere around, he seems to be all she will talk about, and she loves her picture with him!
