Today has been one of those days, where I'm just trying to stay afloat. Both girls have had a little cold. Maddie's not so bad, but poor Brooklyn wakes up all the time with her nose clogged and needing to be suctioned out. She hasn't been eating well either. So after day 3 of being a bit too sleep deprived I think it all caught up with me. My day started waaayyy too early. Ster spelled me for an hour before he had to go to work. I woke up to Brooklyn screaming and Maddie awake (45 mins earlier than ususal) I am far from being a morning person, unfortuantely, so I was a bit grumpy!
I decided to put in a movie for Maddie and try to get a little more sleep on the couch. Maddie had to go potty right as I was dozing, and I was feeling really lazy. I thought, She's been potty trained for a while now. She knows the procedure. I'm going to really let her be a big girl and do it all by herself. That was not the best idea I've ever had! I learned that as we were running out the door to grab a quick breakfast at McDonalds, that I thought surely would put me in a better mood, before Maddie's dance class. This is what I found:
That's right. That brand new roll of toilet paper I had just put on last night was now in the toilet. I decided it would still be there when we got home and I would deal with it then. Now I was really looking forward to my McDonalds breakfast(A little comfort food. Wink!) So we rushed out the door, it was 10:20 and they stop serving breakfast at 10:30. I get to the drive thru at 10:29 and the breakfast menu is still up. Yes! My day is turning around!!! I order and the mean little man in the speaker says,"We're no longer serving breakfast." What??? Me:"But it's 10:30 on the dot and your menu is still up." Mean Man: "We're coming out to change that right now." I asked very nicely and he refused, so I left very sadly. And this is where we went instead. We showed McDonalds. Ha!
So...we return home after dance, and I grab a bunch of plastic bags and some gloves to tackle the toilet, when I happen to look over at Maddie who is standing RIGHT by the bathroom door and is half doing the splits and saying, "Oh man Mommy! I going!" I look down and there is a huge puddle on the carpet. She was barely a foot away from the tile! Seriously??? So this is what I do with her:
After I finished the toilet fiasco. I bathe Maddie of course, because ewww! While she's in there she starts drinking the water which she is not allowed to do because that's disgusting. So I take her out and put her on the counter while I clean the tub. Parents be advised this next part may not be suitable for young children to read: She finds the rectal thermometer that we had used to take Brooklyn's temperature. (It was clean) And when I look over, SHE is trying to take her temperature rectally. I had to try really hard not to laugh. So this is what I did with her:
I told her she had to fold her arms and not move while I finished cleaning the tub. My dad used to always make us fold our arms when we were in trouble. I love that face, lucky for her! That's the look she gives me when she knows she's really in trouble. The good part about all this.... my bathroom is sparkling clean! The bad part... it's only 3...I wonder what else this day has in store for me!

So sorry, I hate those days! Hope it gets better!!
Every mom in the world can relate! Hmmmm, there was the day you scattered an entire bottle of baby powder all around your room...windowsills, crib, drawers and your hair included....then excitedly told me it had snowed! I won't EVEN go into the poopy diaper that got smeared on the walls (by a different child)! Hang in there, it will get better....eventually.
Holy moly!
I'm sure it was miserable, but it was sure a fun read. Hard to be mad at that cute face.
hahah! OH NO what an awful day! days like that suck- when everything goes wrong... You might as well go to bed right now and pray for tomorrow to come early!
That is so funny! But seriously, how can you be mad at her? She's hilarious!
