I'm Learning...

K so for any of you that know me I am really not a morning person. I desperately want to be! I want to be one of those people that just pop right out of bed and start getting things done. I've tried going to bed early, and I have even tried "The Secret."(send your wish to the universe and it will be granted!) Wink! But.... try as I may I have failed.

With that said, my sweet little Maddie has been helping me learn to have patience and find humor in the morning events, even if I am not a morning person. One morning she woke up particularly early, and when I asked her quite grumpily? why she was awake, she replied with the innocence only a child can, "Mommy, it's morning. I had a good sleep." How can I argue with that? Then the other morning I had a mommy moment I'm not proud of. Maddie woke up at a normal time, but Brooklyn had had a horrible night and I had gotten very little sleep. So, I decided to give Maddie a bottle,(I know she really should've been off those like a year ago, but what can I say. She loves her "milky bottle") and send her back to her room. Within just a few minutes she's pounding on her door wanting out. So I angrily opened the door and told her (not very nicely) to go sit in the rocking chair and watch cartoons. She was crying and I felt bad even as I said it. So shortly after, my guilt was getting the best of me, and I went over to apologize to her. I told her she had not done anything wrong, and that Mommy is just grumpy sometimes in the morning when I haven't gotten enough sleep. So I asked her to forgive me, and the first words out of her mouth were, "Mommy you go lay on the couch and I will 'nuggle'(snuggle) you!" It seriously brought tears to my eyes that she could be so forgiving of me when I had just been so mean to her. Sometimes I just look at her and am completely amazed that my 2 year old is actually setting the example for me.

Look at that little angel face!

I feel so blessed to be a mommy of the 2 most amazing little girls ever. I really think they are day and night. Maddie is wild, outgoing, and has had a great sense of humor from the very beginning. She's such a people person! And all though we are still getting to know little Brooklyn and seeing  little bits of her personality emerge here and there, she's just so easy going. I've been able to get little giggles here and there out of her, but she has been a lot harder to make laugh, and I think it is because she is just a really content baby.  Maddie introduces her to people as, "This is my sister Brooklyn. She's a really chubby baby!" And you know she's a chunk when everyones comments are, "Wow! She's really filling out isn't she!" Just today an older man stopped me in the store and said to Brooklyn, "You poor baby! Nobody feeds you do they? You're just wasting away!" We sure thinks it's cute, but we don't want her to get a complex, so I bought her this baby so she wouldn't feel so big!

Just kidding! What a scary looking doll huh?
