Boo!

Photobucket

Here is another forgotten post I forgot to finish. So this is how we started out the month of October. My father in law came out to celebrate my nieces birthday and we went miniature golfing. We had so much fun. The course was all decorated for halloween. I told Mads to show me her scared face...I thought she did pretty good!

Photobucket
Maddie and Lauren LOVE to spend time together. I love this last picture of Ster and Brooklyn making the same "I'm bored!" face.

Eye Surgery

So I forgot to post this last month, but cute little Brooklyn had to have a little eye surgery last month. She has had a clogged tear duct in her left eye that was so bad that many times when she would wake up her eye would be all gouped shut. I was really nervous about her getting put under and having to fast, but I shouldn't have been, because true to  B's character she acted like nothing happened. These "strange" men came and took her away and she just kind of looked at them funny. When they brought her back to me, they all kept saying what a good baby she is. That even the most even-tempered babies tend to freak when coming out of the anesthesia. Not my B. The hospital get up she had to wear absolutely drowned her! I'm really glad they had her wear a hair net to keep all that hair out of the way!

Not in Character

The day started out so promising as I took Maddie to pre school in her Halloween costume.
All of the princesses oohed and aahed at my little frog.
And then disaster struck! The girls had to go to the dr and get their flu shots. Is it mean of me to bring my camera just so I could get a "shot" of this?

So Brooklyn quit crying seconds after I took this picture. While Madison, on the other hand, threw about 50 tantrums from the time we left the doc's office, proceeded to the hospital cafeteria to get a special treat, had to leave because she wouldn't quit screaming and everyone was looking at me with pity and annoyance as I'm carrying Brooklyn and our lunch, pushing the stoller, and covering Madison's mouth as she screams at the top of her lungs at 2 sweet older ladies who were trying to compliment her on her Snow White outfit. I'm not sure whose face was more red, mine from embarassment, or Mad's from the ear piercing scream. Is it really possible to have more than 2 chiildren? I don't want you to think my life is always this exciting, I just like to share the, uh... highlights with you.

So This Is Why People Go Crazy!

It's almost 11:30.... PM, mind you, and the 2 and a half year old terror, AKA Madison is still screaming and crying and knocking on her door, and currently yelling, "I'm all done sleeping." Really? Because she hasn't slept yet and she's been in there since 9. Her first attempt to get out was, "I have a really bad cough guys. I need some Tylenol." Then after she had woke up B for the second time, I tried to tell her a story to calm her down, but once the story was over, she got all worked up again. We warned her to be quiet or we were going to shut her door (which she absolutely hates.) But the stubborn little thing that she is.... she wouldn't stop. So we shut her door, and then she started yelling, "Please be nice to me, please!"  I felt bad for about half a second, and then when the yelling continued I got over it real quick!
This afternoon after awaking from her nap it took her 30 minutes to finally give in and pull down her own panties to go potty. Yes I think we are experiencing a bit of a power struggle here...and it's so hard not to just give in sometimes. I mean it would've taken 30 seconds if I would've helped her, but she is so capable of doing all this on her own. She does multiple "costume" changes all on her own thru out the day!

And to top it off Brooklyn has also been going thru a bit of a difficult phase. She is still such a sweetheart, but just a sweetheart who has decided she doesn't need sleep and wants to nurse 2 to 3 times a night. Now, she is teething, but between the 2 of them I'm a walking zombie! Last night after going from M's room to B's room 1/2 a dozen times, I thought, "What's the point?" I told Ster that as soon as I'm done nursing Brooklyn, I am going to a hotel and I am going to sleep until I naturally wake up. The last time I did that was well before I had Maddie! So if I can just hold being completely sleep deprived for 4 more months....

But in the mean time- Anyone have any advice on what to do with the Terror now? Or does anyone want to take her til she's thru whatever this is she's going through? She is really cute and funny. See...

Drowning Our Sorrows

My Mom just left after her 2 week visit that went by too fast. We just dropped her off at the shuttle to take her to the airport. Maddie cried the whole way home and kept saying, "Grandma! I want Grandma!!!" It was so sad. So we came back home and drowned our sorrows with a tall glass of milk with a shot of chocolate syrup....and her brand new Fancy Nancy book. It seemed to do the trick and cheer her up a bit!
This was her trying to show her sad face!

This little cutie is getting big WAY TOO FAST!!! She just cut her lower right bottom tooth yesterday.

How Does Your Garden Grow....

This Zucchini came out of my garden. I think it should win a prize. Look how HUGE it is! My father in law could not believe this actually came out of my garden. It is a pretty pathetic garden, and I had never done one before, and our soil is rock hard, but the results aren't too shabby eh?
